Teambuilding at Belis, June 2016

01 Jul

“In eight years of entrepreneurship I have learned that the only way to build a company with great success and scale is to build a great team.

No matter how smart, talented, driven, or passionate you are, your success as an entrepreneur depends on your ability to build and inspire a team. A successful leader is one who can spur his or her team members to work well together toward a common vision and goals.”

says Andreea Ungureanu, Office Manager AG Prime

0348.jpgEven if team building is an everyday process, each time we get out of the office or the city, we spend a nice time together and after that we seem to know each other better. So let’s tell you what a great time we had during the last weekend on our team building. In the previous years we found a beautiful place in nature, a place that we wanted to show to our new colleagues which joined the team. Every year we are eagerly waiting for the team building, and on this one we went back to Belis.

We had a full schedule and we spent time together in an amazing way. On the first day we left Cluj, all from the company office with emotions and the desire to escape in nature. A couple of hours passed and we arrived at Belis - a beautiful place, surrounded by pine forests with very clean and cold water, and of course the warm breezes the mountains always offer. It left us breathless, it was like going back in time.

We started the second day with a trip on the path that leads to the Belis Lake. We crossed a beautiful route under the scorching sun, the heat did not manage to stray us from our goal to reach the lake. We arrived after a long trip in a place that was like split of a story.

Not all of us ventured to bathe in cold water of the lake, only the bravest ones. The other enjoyed the good weather and discussed various topics on the waterfront. Later we returned to the camp, with the thought that we took part of nature. Our return journey was also full of adventures and it was worth every step in the heart of nature.

Once we returned to the camping place, we prepared a barbecue and vegetables for dinner. We had colleagues-chefs who have done their work perfect, far exceeding the amateur stage.

We also attended a treasure hunt where each team composed of five had to find clue after clue searching for the hidden treasure. It was a short and beautiful adventure, but everyone helped us draw some conclusions as well as to assert the need of communication in the team, assigning tasks to each action of research and of course we received a reward because we were successful in finishing the game.

0336.jpgThe day passed and as the night arrived, we found no impediment to continue our fun. Near the campfire we played a nice game of mime, it was more than funny. How would you mime the word "thing" to a group? Well, it was not so easy. We also played Jenga, it may seem funny at first but it actually involves a great level of attention to detail and the boys were able to overcome their mutual records.

Every evening the boys played football, some of them have small scars from it, but they smile when they are telling us how they threw themselves down on the grass to defend the ball from reaching its target.

On the third day, overwhelmed by fatigue and the thought that we will leave behind a beautiful place, all that was left was to debate the great memories of the previous days... There were days full of sunshine, which led to long nights which were full of activities. You could see on everyone's face the happiness and the fact that together they form a team.

The team building exercises helped us in creating a unit with strong cohesion, improving the communication skills and the ability to build trust between ourselves. Each person's abilities are based on their experiences and behavioral style. During the team building we learned how to correlate our skills together.

"The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team."

~ Phil Jackson, President of the New York Knicks
