The request:

An e-commerce platform for a company that sells carpets, curtains and other household products. The website needed to be transferred from Magento to Drupal Commerce with all of its products and customer accounts. The website needed a totally new user interface that could offer the experience of sorting the products after different attributes and that could accomodate features such as: discounts, online payment methods (credit/debit card or PayPal), blog, wishlist, fidelity points, newsletter, search for products, live support via Livezilla and Skype, product comparison (ex. by price, size etc.). Apart from new looks an important aspect was that the website allowed the integration of a stock management system that synchronizes the website's stock with the accounting platform.


The Drupal solution:

The website was designed to help users choose their products easily. We divided all the products into different categories with each product type having different properties and features. There are product types which have unique attributes like size or color. To create these we used the product variation feature from Drupal Commerce. Another custom feature is that the product price is changed automatically when the customer drags a slider to select the desired quantity. A similar products' feature is shown on the product page.


After creating an account or signing in, the users can select any of the store products, create an order, choose the payment and shipping method that is most appropriate for them and place the order. After the order has been placed, the user receives a confirmation email. Depending on the state of the store stocks the products will be shipped in 2 to 10 days.


The website offers the users the possibility to manage their account and read about every solution that the website has to offer.

In the blog articles the visitors can read about news, household and shopping advice and tips offered by the company specialists.

Also, the users can register to receive the website's newsletter and get the latest offers and news.

The products are organized in an intuitive manner, and are divided into five big categories (living room, children, kitchen, bathroom, hallway), each with subcategories that make it easy for the user to find what they're looking for.
